Separate guest, service and public areas
Guest rooms, plant rooms, back-of-house doors and public entrances rarely need identical hardware. Start with a door schedule that distinguishes these functions. Record the number of leaves, room reference and quantities so the quote can be checked against the actual hotel layout.
Coordinate visible and operating parts
Agree the finish family for handles, hinges, closers and accessories, while keeping lock function and outside access separate. Electronic guest-room access is a distinct scope: specify it explicitly rather than assuming a mechanical lock package includes an electronic hotel system.
Plan approval and phased supply
Hotels may repeat a small number of hardware sets across many rooms. Define a representative sample set, its drawing reference and any phased quantities. Keep later orders aligned with the approved finish and component list, and identify substitutions before order confirmation.
Inquiry checklist
- Door schedule by room and function
- Quantities by hardware set
- Finish sample and model documents
- Phased delivery and spare requirements
Send the quantities, destination and drawing references. Availability, dimensions and supporting documents are confirmed for the proposed item or construction.
